Maybe If We Were All Naked . . .

Maybe if we were all naked, we would be more honest with each other and less judgmental.

For instance, when I was a young, single woman I loved to visit nude beaches solo. In my experience the men were far more respectful when their business was hanging out for all to see. They were more shy and cautious. And I felt safer.

But give a man a fancy watch and some expensive Italian shoes and watch him become all full of himself! He might be far more likely to posture, brag and attempt an inappropriate pass.

Or so my experience has been.

When it comes to women’s clothing I suppose the same might be true. Naked women probably are more authentic. Clothes can be a way to pretend you are someone you are not. They can serve as a shield from your vulnerabilities.

But women’s clothing in particular, can also be a hotbed of assumptions and volatile emotions. For instance we as a society seem to believe that a woman’s clothing can get her raped.

And there is no shortage of assertions about what women should and should not wear.

Have you ever wondered what the fuss is all about?

I got so curious about the topic that I did a little research and what I discovered was actually pretty shocking. If you want to know how we get it wrong when it comes to what women wear, then check out my brand new article on Medium. As usual, I share some very personal stuff while uncovering recent research into human sexual behavior. I think you will find it both funny and freeing.
