Some would say that we are ALL traumatized. Even if your childhood was rosy, look around you. Trauma inducing world events are everywhere. That’s why it is SO important that you make your healing and your happiness a top priority. If you do, you will be better able to help others and to help usher our world into a better future.
Healing our trauma doesn’t have to be scary and it doesn’t always have to evoke grief. To be sure, most healing journeys do require us to revisit the trauma and that will arouse some uncomfortable feelings.
My own healing journey has sometimes pushed me to the edge of what I thought I could withstand. But on the other side of that emotional discomfort, I have always experienced SO MUCH MORE JOY than I thought possible!
So I persevere. I hold healing my trauma as my life’s work. It’s more important than anything else I will accomplish while I am alive, so I make it my top priority. For this reason, I am able to accomplish more in other areas of my life than I would be able to do, if I were not on a committed and intentional healing journey.
Over the past several decades of proactively engaging my healing, I have experimented with many different modalities including 12 step recovery, traditional therapy, EMDR, IFS, coaching, Reiki, Rolfing, psychics, mediums, sacred sex and shamanic journeys.
Each healing modality has produced valuable results for me and for that reason, I don’t value one over the other. Instead, I tune into what is best for me in any given moment.
I recently engaged a conversation with a dear friend and colleague that I can only term as a wild ride.
If you watch the video below, I think you will see why. My friend Teri Ciacchi weaves together the science of trauma with revolutionary approaches to healing including sex magic and psilocybin.
We always have so much fun when we get together and I am delighted to share our conversation with you. Buckle up and prepare to laugh a lot. And here’s hoping you find a key to your own healing.
